Product Overview

The Nexisense YD-201TL-LoRa wireless gateway module is an industrial-grade communication core specifically designed for IoT devices. It operates in the Sub-G band (410-510MHz), trading low air rates (default 2.4kbps) for ultra-long transmission distances and extremely high link budgets.

This product is not only a physical layer repeater but also an intelligent protocol processing hub. It solves connection challenges within the range of "the last hundred meters" to "several kilometers" at industrial sites, efficiently converting and uploading raw signals from front-end sensors to the Nexisense free cloud platform or user-defined servers. With its 24V industrial power supply (customization supported) and low-power response mechanism, it has become the preferred solution for wireless transformation, smart factory deployment, and distributed environmental monitoring.

Core Technical Advantages

1. Deep LoRa Spread Spectrum Technology and Link Algorithm Optimization
The Nexisense core team has performed algorithm-level deep tuning of the LoRa physical layer. Compared to traditional FSK modulation, the link budget of this product is significantly improved, with transmission distance and penetration performance increased by 2-3 times. Under the same power consumption, its coverage can span industrial areas several kilometers in diameter. At the same time, the product supports a default frequency of 433MHz, and users can freely configure it within the range of 410-510MHz according to local radio management regulations.

2. Diversified "Physical + Protocol" Integration Solutions
Considering the diversity of industrial sites, the Nexisense YD-201TL is not a single-interface design.

  • Physical Layer: Optional RS485 terminal wiring, 4~20mA analog input, RJ45 network port, optical fiber interface, and 4G long-distance transmission function for extreme distance uploading.

  • Protocol Layer: Perfectly supports Modbus industrial standards. This allows users to achieve wireless data reading via the RS485 bus without changing the original PLC or SCADA logic.

3. Balance of Fast Response and Ultra-low Power Consumption
Although LoRa is famous for long distances, Nexisense has introduced "Low Power Fast Response" patented technology. While maintaining a minimal standby current (receiving current only 22mA), it can quickly wake up and process downlink control commands. This means that when the system performs control (such as remote switching of valves or pumps), the feedback delay is controlled within milliseconds.

4. Industrial-grade Mechanical Reliability and Protection

  • Metal Shell: Utilizes high-strength aluminum alloy/stainless steel shell with strong electromagnetic interference (EMC) capability, effectively preventing instantaneous pulses generated during industrial motor startup from interfering with communication.

  • Anti-static Design: The RS485 terminal adopts a reinforced design with built-in multiple electrostatic shielding and surge protection, ensuring firm cable connections and preventing electrostatic breakdown of core circuits in long-term dry environments.

  • Ear-type Wall-mounting: Optimized for distribution cabinets and wall installations, equipped with standard hanging ears, the installation process is extremely simplified, shortening the project construction period.

Wiring and Installation Tips

To achieve the best communication performance of the Nexisense gateway, please refer to the following engineering guide:

  • Antenna Installation: It is recommended that the antenna be placed perpendicular to the ground and as far away from large metal objects as possible. For long-distance communication needs, it is recommended to use an external feeder to place the antenna at a height.

  • RS485 Wiring: Please ensure that the A+ and B- sequence is correct and the connection terminals are tightened. Since the gateway supports 24V power supply, please pay attention to the power polarity; it is recommended to use shielded cables of 0.5mm² or more.

  • Grounding Protection: The metal shell has protective functions. In sites with strong electrical interference, it is recommended to connect the shell hanging ear to the common grounding pole (PE) of the control cabinet to enhance lightning protection and anti-static effects.

Common Questions (FAQ)

Q1: What is the actual communication distance of the Nexisense LoRa gateway?
A1: Communication distance depends on the environment. In open areas, with a standard gain antenna, the distance can reach 3-5 kilometers; in typical industrial plants, due to many metal obstructions, the stable coverage radius is usually 500-1500 meters.

Q2: How do we integrate the gateway into our existing PLC system?
A2: Simply choose the S1 (RS485) output version. The gateway will convert the data collected wirelessly from the front end into Modbus register format, and your PLC only needs to perform polling reads via the RS485 bus.

Q3: Does the product support battery power?
A3: The standard model is designed for 24V external power supply. If your project requires battery power or ultra-low power sleep modes, please contact us for V2 customized development. Nexisense has mature micro-power hardware solutions.

Q4: Is a license required for the 433MHz frequency?
A4: 433MHz belongs to the category of license-free frequency bands for micro-power short-range radio management in China and most parts of the world, as long as the transmit power complies with local regulations. Nexisense default factory settings are strictly limited within the compliant range.

Q5: How many front-end nodes does it support?
A5: Under the Modbus polling architecture, a single gateway is recommended to stably carry 32-64 terminal nodes. If the sampling cycle requirements are extremely high (such as second-level uploading), it is recommended to increase the number of gateways to ensure bandwidth redundancy.

Q6: How is data transmission security guaranteed?
A6: Our wireless communication layer supports hardware-level data encryption, and LoRa spread spectrum technology itself has a high difficulty of interception probability (the signal is submerged in the noise floor), effectively preventing malicious data interception.
